A Beautiful Bollywood Inspired Wedding

Architect Alina married Chris, a Consultant around 31 August in Shoreditch, East London. The couple first met one Christmas Eve; Chris visited university with Alina’s cousin and met one festive evening to have an alumni drink when Alina also went along, too.

“We decided that people wanted to get married in London inside a registered venue so that people could be legally married around the same day from the wedding. As we were built with a lot of friends and family traveling to London all over the world we didn’t wish to over-exert our guests. We then searched London Local Authority databases for licensed venues for marriages to locate our perfect venue.”

“There was something very special about wearing this type of traditional Asian wedding outfit and jewelry. It was a surprise choice for this type of modern London wedding because it gave the marriage a nod to my culture and roots which was picked up afterward in the flowers and the marriage favors.”

“For the bouquets, buttonholes, and also the wooden arch we went for dark green foliage with deep red and blush flowers, to enhance the racing green from the bridesmaids’ dresses and groomsmens’ ties.”

Chris’ blue suit would be a beautifully tailored design, that they wore had a deep green tie to enhance the bridesmaids’ dresses.

“I had seven bridesmaids and loved the thought of having them all wear different dresses which were the same color. The girls all chose their very own green bridesmaid dresses and I love the way the mixture of textures and designs worked together while reflecting each bridesmaid’s personality.”

Each bridesmaid chose their shoes and accessories, plus they all carried beautiful floral hoops by florists. There was additionally a wonderful wooden A-frame like a ceremony backdrop within the Ace Hotel’s 100 Room, using its epic floor-to-ceiling windows.

In pairs, the bridesmaids walked on the aisle together using the groomsmen, then Alina, who had been accompanied by her father Ejaz.

“Chris popped the question whilst on vacation in Porto in April 2018. We were married in May 2019 but we postponed it until August because of a family bereavement. Consequently, I was engaged just for over 16 months.”

“As well as carrying out a great job on our wedding, she included a pre-wedding shoot, which we employed for our Nikkah (Muslim marriage ceremony) and we wound up getting plenty of photos of this day that people will treasure forever.”
