A Modern + Romantic Wedding in Italy
Head of selling Filipa and solicitor Ciaran were wed on 31st August 2018 in the beautiful Italian villa Borgo Di Tragliata in Fiumicino, Rome.
The destination photographer captured the marriage beautifully on camera using her gorgeous natural lit style to bring out the greens within the foliage and capture the spirit at the time.
“Ciaran and I met in Trinity College this year, where I was both studying. We were set up by a friend who ended up being a great matchmaker! We got engaged in New York in a tiny Air BnB and were engaged almost 2 yrs before the marriage.”
“As I wanted my dress to suit the current, romantic vibe during the day, the moment I saw my dress, I knew it had been the one. I also loved the structural elements the train had and also the added bows. I tried on on the hundred dresses which was the final one.”
“Thankfully it had been just as beautiful as I had hoped it might be. The fabric was comfortable and easy to put on, and I liked the intense ivory color from it too.”
Filipa’s bridesmaids looked sensational in mid-length champagne bridesmaid dresses and a set of barely-there heels. Each maid also held the bridal bouquet, including lush green foliage and ivory flowers, all developed by florists Donatella and Giuliano.
The couple said their I Do’s in the church decorated with reams of green foliage and pillar candles in hurricane glass jars.

“We desired to bring the natural setting from the venue towards the church and also the tables, therefore we used lots of greenery including eucalyptus, olive branches, and olive sprigs. We added white flowers too for any bright, clean feel.”
Following the ceremony as well as their couple’s portraits with photographer Peggy, the newlyweds, as well as their guests, were greeted with increased gorgeous green foliage running on the full length of every banquet-style table for the marriage breakfast.
“Again we just desired to compliment the gorgeous surroundings and produce some from the natural greenery towards the dinner tables. We also used gold cutlery, gold-rimmed glasses, and grey table fabric to help keep the tables rustic and romantic, and tie everything together nicely.”
“We find the venue because of its stunning natural landscape, rustic buildings, and relaxed feel. We wanted the entire day to reflect the beauty of the venue as it’s encompassed by beautiful greenery and historic buildings, and we wanted the flowers, table settings, and church decor to raise this.”
Evening celebrations were kicked served by the couple’s first dance to Dream Catch Me by Newton Faulkner, then the wedding band played into the early hours of the morning.
“It’s so difficult to pick only one favorite moment in the day. We enjoyed the Italian meal and hearing all the great speeches from your wedding party. We also loved striking the dance floor wonderful our family and friends!”
Words Of Wedded Wisdom
“Plan well ahead of time so you can enjoy the days within the run-up to the marriage. On your day itself, have a look around at how happy everyone is to become there.”
