A Quintessentially English Barn Wedding
On 5 May 2018, Hilary, an economic controller wed Néill, a chartered tax advisor at near Bramley, Surrey. The barn and it is idyllic farm setting was an ideal space to host their springtime, countryside wedding, that many of Néill’s family traveled from Ireland.
A color pattern of spring pastel colors was the backdrop for his or her relaxed, boho celebrations, plus a few nods for their shared love of rugby, wine, and music.
“Overall the style I was aiming for would be a relaxed, countryside, boho wedding with spring pastel colors.”
Hilary visited Emma Elizabeth Bridal in Twickenham, whose mother and daughter team helped her to pick her divine gown; a fitted number with crochet lace detailing, a brief train (ideal for dancing!) along with a sassy open back.
“When I walked into Emma Elizabeth Bridal I knew I was likely to find my dress there because they had racks upon racks of lovely and classy lace dresses.”
“I’d seen another dress on Instagram by Watters that was the dress I went in specifically to test but I wound up not liking it personally. Emma’s mum Carol brought out another Watters dress and it had been just everything I had been searching for. I had only popped there during my lunch break from work so it had been quite unexpected.”
The civil ceremony occurred in the airy, beamed barn which had been beautifully decorated with fresh leaves and flower displays, wooden furniture, and macrame chair backs. Hilary put lots of thought directly into how she would walk on the aisle. I love her vision of support for loved ones during this special time.
The barn is made ready for that wedding breakfast that was held on long, long trestle tables adorned with yet more foliage. Hilary has shared some inspiring information about the decor, and it is rugby influences, around.
The bridesmaids look so elegant and relaxed in their soft pink bridesmaid dresses, ordered online.
“The only moment in wedding ceremony planning when I needed to ask myself ‘Have I gone completely mad’ was when I chose to order my bridesmaid’s dresses from FeelTimes however the gamble paid off because they were absolutely beautiful.”
Come evening, the marriage party got around the dance floor to more music from Rollercoaster in addition to tucking directly into fresh pizza and plenty of delicious cake. Their choice would be a tiered semi-naked creation crowned with models from the couple as well as their dog, Paddy.
“Our first dance ended up being to Imagine Dragons’ ‘On Top from the World’. We wanted something upbeat instead of a slow dance, and achieving seeing Imagine Dragons together at Glastonbury we thought it was an ideal fun song to bop to.”
“Music was one of the most important aspects of our day, along with a great live band was top in our priority list for that wedding. I wanted live music to walk on the aisle therefore the fiddle player and guitarist in the band came early to experience it during the ceremony and also at our reception. In the evening the rest from the 5-piece band came plus they were incredible.”
Words of Wedded Wisdom
“Don’t hesitate to delegate – I started off attempting to do everything myself however with a few months to visit it became very challenging attempting to juggle extended hours at work and wedding ceremony planning. People wish to help, so just question them.”
